#SeasonalSonnets: 6th Dec.

Hello my lovely readers and welcome to yet another late post for the sixth instalment of my #SeasonalSonnets series. This one is late because I had hydrotherapy and then drove up to uni, so I've not had much internet time. However, it's about the release I find in swimming, so I guess it counts as research!? Anyway, here it is, with a 'light drawing' that is approximately a pool!

Love until tomorrow!

6th December

Today my poem is an ode to swimming,
and the bliss I find when in the pool,
for then I leave off gravity and go spinning –
that’s if the water isn’t far too cool.
When buoyant I can have my fill of walking,
which otherwise I only do in dreams,
and have freedom I long for whilst I’m waking
‘cause everything takes longer than it seems.
That’s not to say that I don’t love my wheels,
or the wind catching my hair up as I zoom,
but when I swim it’s as if the whole world feels
like it’s opened into a much larger room.
Methinks perhaps I might become a mermaid –
as then I could provide my own inner aid.
