Hello my lovely readers!
As I'm spending a great deal of time snuggling my dogs whilst I work, I thought they deserved a sonnet of their own, and have consequently dedicated tonight's #SeasonalSonnets entry to them. I've also included a photo of them both in place of the usual 'light drawing'. Hope you enjoy!
19th December
Tonight I write in honour of my spaniels,
who are the very best at giving snuggles –
they really are the most amazing animals
and I can count on them when feeling muddled.
Dear Darcy’s taciturn just like his namesake
(or rather he’s ‘reserved’ when he’s with others).
Yet I can often hear him by his tail shake
far sooner than I see him, when I’m over.
Young Georgi is his (much!) misnamed half-sister
for she could be called anything
but shy.
She seems all innocent and like she’s missed ya,
‘til the remnants of your supper catch her eye...
I guess they make a rather motley pair,
but I love nothing better than their care.
